Welcome to
the Urban Gardener
a Garden Adventure Vlog?, or Program?, or Show?, or more like a Video Magazine of Gardening Variety. At least that is how I envision it anyway.
We have a few unique growing situations, where we try to grow as much food for ourselves with the space we have.
We grow food on a cement patio with above ground raised beds, we grow food in our alleyway spaces, we grow food in water wicking containers, we have even grown food on our carport rooftop!
Having the knowledge and ability to garden and grow your own food is a fun and rewarding pastime that not only gives you delicious nutritious food to eat, but also gives you a healthy peace of mind.
Every episode is a Garden Adventure, either here in our garden spaces or on the road visiting other gardeners and their garden projects.
Maybe even you someday!
So join us, and subscribe to our channel, also hit the bell to be notified of upcoming episodes. Don't forget to leave us some comments too.

You did a great job with this video. Very informative
I'm curious if you know how much water the space between the buckets will hold. And in regards to an overflow hole so your didn't drive the roots.... Do you drill yours in the bottom bucket just below the bottom of the top bucket, or are you drilling into the top bucket so you can hold more water?
I had to leave the live, watching replay
Thanks for sharing! Great chat!
Great chat!
Dacthal Chemical emergency stop EPA www.epa.gov/newsreleases/epa-issues-emergency-order-stop-use-pesticide-dacthal-address-serious-health-risk-4
I’ve applied for Facebook group
I finished work just as you finished the stream, almost to the minute! 😢 Sorry I missed the chat, but I'm watching on the replay.
A suggestion Enoch would be using a watering wand , allowing you to water lower and more control directly underneath the plant. Serena, great question, agree, I’m sure you play the music to all your plants Enoch, hence the guitar 🎸 My apologies, I woke up with my iPad in my hand everyone, sorry watched replay….
This bucket system reminds me of the Edsel.
I’m watching the LSOH Halloween special!!!!
Great chat!
Can I plant my blood moro which is in a 3 gallon to a 20 gallon grow bag
What a great episode, Enoch! I was trying to get done with work to get in there live. I'm not shy, I can bring down the quality of your programming any day! 😅😆😅 So glad I didn't make it, Adam was awesome! Very interesting, I love soil science and respecting the natural process when we can. We'll have to compare g'daughter pics, our latest one was just born a few weeks after yours! Ah hah hah!! If I can get in there I will click your link. 😁
So great to meet "The" Jay Dixon! 😊
Catching the replay! Always great content! Hoping to see sundays show in real time 😊
Y’all UTube Been keepin Jay hid away
Wow! Jay is a girl … so knowledgeable Jay should have a show! I remember when Jay was with Gary pillow check 😅when Cali Kim came to visit etc great Job Jay does!
Jay Dixon is a great choice as a guest.I.missed the live she's such a great support person and she's helping several channels she's full of knowledge.
Thank you!
Gardener Scott recommended your channel on his July 29th Livestream, so here I am!
That’s awesome! Gardener Scott is a good friend, he joins us every 2nd Sunday of the month on the show to talk gardening and answer questions. Thank you for checking us out, I hope to see you at one of our shows.
Great chat!
Thank you! 😊
Going to Sub to Jason NOW. I don't have a balcony, but a different small space garden so I hope to learn some things. I hope he comes back to talk again with some of his personal perspectives on life, the universe and everything. What a great guest and story. Going from being trapped in his apartment and unemployed during covid to becoming a gardening advocate that is making a difference and oh, just happened to meet the Queen! Seems like a super down to earth person that cares a lot. Great interview as always.
Jason is great! Brilliant in fact! I can’t wait for his upcoming weekly vlog from his travels to learn about urban green spaces.
First off Eli, great job holding the fort despite suddenly being guestless. I think you would have been fine if nobody had stepped up, BUT firstly Thank you Jay! You are always super helpful in the chats, but you are a great presenter. I don't care what you say; you have great presence on screen. You are engaging and a great story teller! This is the interview we didn't know we needed!
This is such a great comment or actually compliment. Jay is awesome and you are 100% correct about being a great interview!
Josh and Jason are 2 of your most interesting guests. absolutely loved this show!! And of course, I love Sarah's segment, so proud of that girl of mine!! We are both so busy harvesting daily, canning, freezing, and dehydrating. I had enuf green beans to wash, snap, blanch and freezer bag to keep my hands busy thru your entire show!!!!! Kiss your Grandbaby girl for me, more pictures please <3
Great way to get some preserving done by watching our show! Sarah is really great, I am so fortunate to have such good friends and contributors to my projects. You all are really amazing. Loving my time with my granddaughter, I am getting really behind from what I need to be doing but I just can’t help it. Lol.
Forgot to ask about your Worms 🪱 ENOCH lots of views🎉
Yeah, that video is doing pretty good. I need to make a follow up. Video production has been lagging because of a lot of other things going on but I will work on it soon.
Great interview with Jay!
Wasn’t that a great surprise to go from not really having a show to one of the best so far! Jay is so awesome and it was such a pleasure to have her on for an impromptu interview.
What a great live, Enoch. Finally, a face to put with Jay. I missed last weekend, I finally caught the replay.
So cool to finally get to meet her. She does so much for the show, so it really made my day!
Great chat!
Thank you so much! 😊
I wonder what Johnny's opinion is of the Black Cobra chili. It's not as hot as a lot of the Superhots, but it's right up there.
I bet he would love to try it!
@@theUrbanGardener He probably has.
Great chat!
Thank you! 😊
When I started gardening the first year... I learned more about myself than gardening. 😅
It gets deep too!
Great advice! 👍❤
Thank you!😊
Awesome points. Just keep growing! 💗
Always!
I would thank Jay for jumping on today. She is a special person 🥰. My dad was a landscaper his whole life and used chemicals heavily on a daily basis. He passed away from a rare chemically induced lung cancer. The thought of me touching any chemical is taboo.
How awful, so sorry! Chemicals are horrible…
@@theUrbanGardener Thank You, Enoch🥰
Oh wow what an live to miss hello Jay!! Thanks for giving your time and knowledge and all that you do! You as well Enoch!
My pleasure! Jay was great!
❤😊
😊❤️
Greetings all!! We've been without internet all day following big storms this morning that were most welcome. Watching on replay!
@ecologytoday (I know it won't link but just recognizing Jay Dixon) For this morning's watching pleasure I had the joy of finishing this episode a week later. 😆 Jay was AMAZING, not that I thought you wouldn't be! I love your back story as an educator. I have been in the same story in my life for many, many decades as well and feel a deep call to that! I have a deep connection to recognizing not only my story but the differences in the stories of others and how they end up with such unique gifts that are amazing! Thank you for the shout out again. You did help me get to the 1000 subscribers point and now I am on my way to monetization soon... *fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞🤞...and toes! 😆
Enoch at 2:11:11 "I've got the adjectives!" Well titled Enoch!!! 😆😆😆
Ah hah hah!! One more Layla shot! I LOVE it!! We just got a new grand-daughter Friday ourselves! 😍😍😍
Congratulations! How amazing! I love it so much!
Jay was such a great impromptu guest! So awesome to get to know more about her. I hope you get that monetization soon!
I’m up to date, what I missed at beginning of show😊 I’m comfortable doing a pop in but not set up for it on iPad, perhaps when I’m on PC/i-Mac again. There’s a Documentary out there somewhere from the 80’s😊 Enoch the issue with catch up on UA-cam is the access to conversations in the Live or at least an option?
Great show! She was a real treat to meet and listen to. Thanks for making this happen. 🙋♀
Glad you enjoyed it! So glad she decided to pop in for the chat!
Your in for a surprise special guest tonight❤

That’s so awesome! Nathan is great, I hope you become friends!
Yes great show😊 Are you still Staking Me!😊
Always!😊
Another great episode, Scott is one of my favorite people as well, but I've got to say your opening quote is easily my most favorite quote about gardening! Totally made the episode on its own, and then there was the rest of the episode that never disappoints.
By the way... I like that music for Gardener Scott MUCH better!
Love that!
Great live today Enoch. You and Bevin discussed some pretty awesome topics. It's to bad I was forced to work today, and missed the live.
Great chat!
